Set Parsec to "Prefer Maximum Performance"
I noticed that with default settings, if I had no game or other program that triggered the high performance mode of my RTX 2070, Parsec would normally trigger a lower power mode, dropping the clock speed from where it was idling at 1185 MHz all the way down to 420 MHz. This increased the encode time by about 4-5 times relative to what it normally is.
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel
- Under Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings, hit the "Add" button
- Select Parsec in this menu.
- Quit Parsec in the system tray then re-pen it
- DO NOT simply hit the "Restart" button, this will not allow the change to fully take effect.
- If you cannot find it, hit "Browse" then open C:\Program Files\parsec\parsecd.exe
- Hit "Add Selected Program"
- Set the Power Management Mode to "Prefer Maximum Performance"
Make sure you save your changes!
- Make sure you QUIT parsec from the system tray (NOT restart, they are different)
